James Campbell and Sarah Dodd's Picture? Possibly?

I have a picture of two of my Campbell realitives from Walker County Georgia.  This picture looks to have been taken in the late 1800's.  The couple is elderly, except, the man is very good looking. Could this picture possibly be of James Campbell and Sarah Dodd?  If any of my Campbell relatives recognize this picture please send me an email or make a comment.  I would greatly appreciate it.

  1. Hi Jeannie, you seem to be a really interesting person. Have you done any of your Campbell family research, and if you have what have you discovered? Which line of the Campbells are you? I am descended from the Campbells of Argyll and have recently discovered that I am related to the Dukes of Argyll and am the 14th cousin once removed of His Grace, our current 13th Duke of Argyll, which was such a thrill to have had it confirmed after my dear late father's years of research. Also it interests me to know about the picture and wonder who their line of ancestry are. Please let me know whatever you can as I LOVE researching names, dates and ANY info relating to Campbells and our Ancestry genealogy. I hope I hear from you soon.Take care and keep in touch. Best wishes from Rosalie x

    1. Hi Rosalie, The Campbells is the line that I have researched back to Archibald Campbell in Campbell County, VA. He was a provision supplier in the Revolution and his son James (who is my direct discent) fought in the same war. I am one of those people who need the paper trail when tracing my family line. I can go on to ancestry.com and trace my family back to The Highlands in Scotland. But the sad thing is that not all of the information is correct on Anecestry. So, I do research, such as find wills, census, birth, death, and marriage records. I am so happy that you have found your line back to Scotland. I,too, hope that I am so fortunate. My mother would be so proud of all of this. I think she may be doing the happy dance, wherever she is.

  2. I Unfortunatly can't help with the picture but I can help Rosalie x in quest for knowledge about the Campbell clan...you see I am Campbell as well & have done research on the clan. There are 3 main branches of the clan. They are Argyl,Breadalbane & Cawdor I can tell you a great deal about my clan but a better way to do this would be to go to this website: http:// www.rampantsscotland.com/clans/blclancampbell.htm. Enjoy & I hope you are as proud of the clan as I am
