I exist, how about you?

I have just finished reading the book by Rania Al-Baz called Disfigured.  I have always wanted to know what is was like to live in a muslim woman's world.  Do these women accept life for what it is or do they speak out when they have had enough?  What happens when they rebel?

Here is a quote from the book: "Women are nothing and everywhere men dominate.  Even if women are given a starring role in our popular folktales, we do not exist in reality, we are only the shadows of our fathers, brothers, and husbands.  It is appalling to realize that in Saudi Arabia a woman cannot walk down the street without men staring at her openly.  For them, she is nothing but a body without a mind, something that moves and does not think..."

I am not talking about religion, far from it.  But women's existence and most importantly their rights. Imagine what it would be like for you if you had to trade places with one of those women. It's not a pretty picture is it?

  4. Come to think of it. If women are not admired by men, they may go depressed.
